What is a photo?

This is the part where I pretend to write about myself in third person. But I won't.

I've been told to keep this professional. But here's the truth: I'm just a monkey with a camera who accidentally became the best in the country. Twice.

I don't love posing people. I love catching them in the middle of something—mid-laugh, mid-chaos, mid-emotion. That's when it feels real.

Here's what I actually believe: Any photographer you hire can shoot amazing photos of the big moments. What makes the difference is what you're shooting when the big moments are NOT happening.

Hi, I’m Naahushi.

You don't tell a butterfly where to fly. I believe you shouldn't direct a photo. You follow the moment like you'd follow a butterfly.

A photo is like a butterfly. You've seen it a thousand times, yet you stop and you stare.

Dynamic. Immersive. Meaningful.

For me, photographs need to be one of three things:

Dynamic: They need to show you a perspective you've never seen before.

Immersive: They need to make you feel like you are a part of the moment every time you look at the photo.

Meaningful: They need to be meaningful to you. Meaningful of a story you cherish. Meaningful of a moment you didn't realize happened.

Plot Twist: The best wedding photos happen between the poses. This is the groom realizing he put the wrong kurta on, 5 minutes before the ceremony.

Her mother was her best friend. I wanted to photograph them together. Turns out, they were never really apart.

They couldn't see each other before the ceremony—ritual rules. We needed a couple portrait anyway. So we opened the door, put them on opposite sides, and hoped for magic. In two seconds, without looking, they reached out and shook hands. “All the best!” Sometimes the best portraits happen through doorways.

Apparently, Awards Matter

Let’s Get Real

What I Don’t Do

I don't recreate Pinterest photos. I don't pose you into unnatural positions. And I definitely don't take photos on your phone (seriously, please stop asking).

What I Actually Do

I capture how the bride feels hungry while getting ready. How the groom still hasn't bathed while it's getting late. The real, messy, beautiful moments that make your story yours.

My Promise

10 years from now, one word becomes the most important about a wedding photo: "people." I capture how those people feel, what they're doing, their story. I want a photo to feel like YOU.

Ready to Get Real?

If you want photos that look like everyone else's, I'm probably not your guy. But if you want photos that feel like YOU—let's talk.
